Pasukan Fachri Husaini siap menjalani turnamen di piala Asia U-16. Turnamen tersebut akan berlangsung di Malaysia. Tentunya masuk semifinal menjadi hal wajib agar timnas Indonesia U-16 masuk piala dunia U-17.
Dikutip dari kompas.com (27/08/2018), Pelatih Fahkri Husaini sengaja menggelar pemusatan latihan di Medan agar lebih dekat ketika terbang ke Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, tuan rumah Piala Asia U-16 2018. Tentunya para pemain timnas Indonesia U-16 ingin tampil maksimal demi meraih tiket ke piala dunia U-17 di Peru.

Timnas Indonesia U-16 kemungkinan besar akan ada perubahan. Hal ini terkait dengan regulasi piala Asia U-16. Nama pencetak gol tunggal timnas Indonesia U-16 di final piala AFF U-16 akan dicoret.
Pemain tersebut adalah Muhammad Fajar. Pemain tersebut dicoret karena usianya akan melebihi kategori usia 16 tahun. Kemungkinan posisi Muhammad Fajar akan kembali diambil oleh pemain andalan timnas U-16 yang baru pulih dari cedera, yakni Hamsa Lestaluhu.
Posisi penjaga gawang pastinya tetap ada nama Ernando. Duet bek tengah Nur Rahman dan Komang masih menjadi andalan. Yudha Febrian dan Bagas Kaffa akan mengisi pos bek sayap.
Dalam trio lini tengah ada nama David Maulana, Andre dan Brylian. Hanya posisi winger yang biasanya ditempati Muhammad Fajar akan digantikan oleh Hamsa, sedangkan Muhammad Supriadi masih akan menjadi andalan untuk membantu Bagus Kahfi mencetak banyak gol di piala Asia U-16.
